  • Jaunburtnieki Estate
Up to 1680 the place belonged to Swedish State chancellor count Axel Uxenshern and Charles Gustav Uxenshern, the former favourites of Gustav Adolf, but after they lost all their properties in Vidzeme, in 1690 the estate became a state property. After the Swedish-Russian war the ownership went to the Russian Crown and owners changed, reaching 10 in total. From 1703 to 1717 the place was owned by captain fon Fitinghof and his family, but from 1720 to 1748 this property was governed by baron Gustav Reinhold Mengden, the husband of Ann Margaret Fitinghof. In 1750 the ownership was taken over by fon Stein, who was Narva fortress superintendent. Two years later (in 1752) it was rented to Abram Hege, the counsellor of Viborg province. His widow assigned neighbour landlord Budenbrock to be in charge of this property. In 1762 count Burhard fon Minnih promised better life for the estate. The estate was inherited by his brother Kristof Minnih. He was a man with a generous heart as his decision was to leave this property to fon Igelstrem's married daughter Ann, who sold this property for 57600 silver roubles (1774) to major-general Charles Gustav fon Renne. From 1786 this estate was a family property. In 1826 the hairess was countess Hreptovica. The ambitious lady pledged it for 10 years to a German citizen Shik for 55 500 silver roubles. The widow Eleonora Shik bought the estate back (1836) and presented it to her daughter Luize and her son-in-law the first lieutenant Konstantin Alexander fon Smolian, and so, the times of Smolian family started. Before World War I the property was managed by baron fon Nolken.
  • Jaunburtnieki Church
The author of encyclopaedia "Lutheran Churches in Latvia" V. Masnovskis (vol.2, 2006) has written about this church that ‘' at the beginning of the 20th century its owner J.fon Smolian had built a processional house in the park of the estate where the supervisor sermonized every Sunday, but the service was held twice a year. The house was without a tower. When the pastor Reinhold Mayer arrived in Jaunburtnieki in 1910, services were held every month. In 1912 Nolken presented to the parish 7.2 hectars of land to move the church there and start a burial ground next to it. In the same year, the newly built church and the cemetery were confirmed. In 1913 a bell tower was added although the bell had been made a year before". The damage of the World War I was repaired according to the project by architect Robert Legzdins (1901 - 1990). In the 30ies of the 20th century the church was plastered over, after World War II the church was restored as a chapel.
  • Davini Big Stone
With the sizes - 4m long, 2.8 m wide and 1.4 m high, it is famous for the 19 rounded conical holes ( diametre up to 15 cm, depth up to 7 cm). Such holes are characteristic for stones found in Northern Europe. It is believed that in the second half of the first millenium B.C. the rituals of the deceased and fertility were held upon such stones. There are only 7 such kind of stones in Latvia.
  • Medieval Cross Stone and Jaunburtnieki Ancient Burial Ground
Jaunburtnieki ancient burial ground is in Berzaine parish on the right side of Berzaine - Vakseni road about 1.2 km after Berzaine. It is a cultural monument of local importance.
The present Jaunburtnieki cemetery was confirmed in 1911, but a cross stone with two carved crosses is a sign that there had been burials already earlier. In 1926 Raul Snore has recorded bone findings, which were found excavating graval near the cemetery. Some legends also tell us about more ancient burials. There is a story that a black dog with red, shining eyes had chased passers by and later at the ‘'Salzemnieki" house it had jumped up in the air as a whirlwind and landed in the cemetery and disappeared. Other explanations connect it with the ghost of old Kaulins who was known as a man with a magic spell.
