Dikli Civil Parish
Territory: 156.6 km2
Population: 1259 (according to the data of Citizenship and Migration Office on 01.01.2009) First mentioned in historic sources in 1436. Dikli is located in Idumeja highland, stretching across Augstroze hills, Limbazi plane and Talava lowland. Almost all Dikli parish is located in the basin of Salaca river. There are several small rivers: Briede, Gruzupite, Paktene, Mazbriede with a tributary Zunda and the lakes: Dauguli Mazezers, Rakis and Mazbrenguli Mazezers. Marshlands are stretching across Western parts of Dikli parish. There are 300 small farms with the total area of 7674 hectars and 135 homesteads with the total area of 775 hectars. Municipality owns 1065.8 hectars and the central government owns 4723.1 hectars. There are 3 educational institutions in Dikli: Dikli elementary school named after Juris Neikens, Dauguli elementary boarding school for children with special needs and Dikli pre-school education institution "Cielavina". Dikli parish has 2 libraries : in Dikli and in Dauguli.
